Made You Look

Made You Look - A road unknown

This is one of those shots where I ended up at the right place at the right time. We had just finished up exploring in Colorado and were now headed to Arches National Park in Utah. During our drive the GPS suggested a faster route to avoid construction. The alternative route was a 20 mile dirt road which honestly they should have just said off roading. The drive was beautiful. It was fascinating to see all the different topography. I absolutely would have picked this drive over taking the highway. I could not for the life of me tell you where we were but I would go back. Wish me luck when I try to find this again. Lol

We finally came to a paved part of the road as we drove through rock walls and cliff edges. We were moving just slow enough that we saw what we thought was a goat or something on the side of a cliff. We pulled off down a nearby road and rolled along to be quiet so we didn't scare them. Like what if it fell because we spooked it right? Anxiety. They weren’t bothered! They jumped the guard rail, crossed the road and started climbing. They blended in so perfectly with their surroundings that I could be 15 feet away and would still lose it. I ran into the middle of the road and set up. I had my sister and dad watch my front and back... Then it looked right at me. Click. Ugh I will never forget this click… Aaaannnd that my friends is a special moment. Everything had to align in order for me to be in that exact spot at that exact time.

The takeaway:  Be grateful for the moments you have. You have no idea what needed to align in order for it to happen.

I wasn't sure what type of animal it was so I did a reverse Google image search and it seems like it’s some type of bighorn sheep. If anyone with better knowledge can contribute I appreciate it!

Not only is this just baffling for technology but also for knowledge. It might not always be 100% accurate but it can be a useful tool to help you learn more about your surroundings. If you want to feel as cool as I do after learning how to do this five minutes ago… All you have to do is:

  • Go to google.com

  • Go to the search bar and click the camera icon

  • Then just upload or drag and drop your image

  • BOOM then it does its magical google searching and finds similar images. So Cool.

And now you know! :)
